Welcome to the home of Spyrious. Psychedelic originals band from Adelaide. Our music is mostly slow and could be referred to as Sludge or Blues, as well as Psychedelic. It's always hard to put an originals band in a strict boxed category though, and we are OK with that ..... we hope you may like it too .... PS - it is pronounced SPY - REE - US
The band has evolved, whilst also devolving - we started out with Alayna-Rani and some songs she had written, then added Pete S and Manfred H for a couple of years. That was Pete on drums, and Manfred on bass, and Alayna-Rani de on lead guitar and vocals. We recorded Alayna-Rani's original song "BROKEN" with that line up, and uploaded it to Tidal, Youtube, Bandcamp and various other online places.
Fast forward in time now to the start of 2025, Tony S joined the band, after Pete left, and the three of us played South Coast Raw, at Aldinga. Not long after that Manfred has gone on a hiatus and then there were TWO.
As a two piece we have been making plenty of coordinated noise, plus getting on to the same wave length whilst enjoy the creative process.
Getting on with the creative flows of working on an album, capturing some video footage, regularly jamming out experimental improv style, plus setting our sights on playing some gigs with some of our Adelaide muso fiends - there has been plenty to do.
We are now heading into 2026, and we now have Alayna-Rani de on lead guitar, vocals, and key board, whilst Tony S is on drums and percussion, and maybe a hint of vocals. FL Studio and midi synth layering is featuring in the at times heavy sound scapes. It is quite a full sound, especially for a two piece.
Tony's hypnotic beats with smooth cymbals carry on as the back bone of the duo, with Alayna-Rani's effected vocal layers blending in to the beat, the guitar seems to intuit itself, and Alayna is some times juggling both guitar and synth simultaneously.
